Greetings Saints, There is a physical rest and there is a spiritual rest. The Bible speaks of it in Hebrews when referring to those who could not enter his rest because of unbelief. Just as your body needs physical rest in order to function properly, so does your spirit. Rom 1:17 (Darby) for righteousness of God is revealed therein, on the principle of faith, to faith: according as it is written, but the just shall live by faith. But we also see some do not enter in because of unbelief. This is when the pressures of life are constant and you labor to believe God’s word , yet still come short of entering. You are doing all you know to do, but the problem usurps the authority and you ultimately faint. There is a rest for the believer! However, you must labor to enter in. This rest is only achieved from a labor or training of the mind and the physical senses to be in complete submission to the powerful living Word of God firmly planted in your spirit. This is work! Many will settle for a confused mixture of worldliness, religion, and Christianity because it is less labor. Many times grabbing at faithless excuses to appease their conscience and temporarily comfort them in their pain. Most will surely agree that Jesus is Lord, but with little or no effort to actually prove (experience) His lordship. The majority of people are merely “believing” they will receive at some future date in time. You will hear them say, “I am believing God for this or that”. Then they wonder why they never actually get anything from God. For if I am always “believing” for it in the future, that is what I get…the future! It stays in the future because that is what I am exercising my faith for! Faith is now! If I believe, I have received , and that is what I get. I have it! When I already have it, I do not need to work anymore, I now rest. It is already mine, I am not chasing after it, I possess it now. No one can take it from me. You have the choice to believe and receive or doubt and do without. I am confident you will fight the good fight of faith to enter His rest. I love you saints, looking forward to seeing you in church Sunday.
