Greetings Saints!
Deut 1:32 Yet in this thing ye did not believe the LORD your God. It is possible to witness God’s miraculous power in times past, yet in this thing, our current situation, find ourselves unwilling to believe Him presently. It would seem that based on past experience with the miraculous we should victoriously take hold of the next challenge life presents with great conquest. Quite The New Living Translation puts it this way. “But even after all he did, you refused to trust the Lord your God, Deut 1:32 NLT Even after all He did, the miracle of parting the Red Sea, manna for food, water out of the rock, there still presents a choice at the next challenge of either using our faith or falling back to unbelief. Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ. Rom 10:17 NIV Faith does not come from what we see. If one depends on what is seen, life becomes a wild roller coaster ride in multiple fast moving directions. The skilled soldier disciplines both body and soul in submission to the spirit. Believing the unseen more than the seen. Knowing that what is seen is temporary, subject to change. Thus truth dominates over reason due to the fact that spirit (unseen) is eternal while the seen (natural) is temporary. Therefore we prevail by steadfast faith in the Word to change the natural things. Miracles are in fact a witness of the Lord’s power. They are excellent for that. They show us the supernatural. They show to us a realm outside of what we normally see and feel every day. But it is the Word that we derive our faith from. Never are we told that faith comes by seeing any miracle or anything else. The Bible tells us that faith comes by hearing the Word of God. The Israelites were told to go and possess the land and in this thing, (the Word of the Lord to them,) chose to reason it away and disobey.. Yet in spite of this word you did not believe (trust, rely on, and remain steadfast to) the Lord your God, Deut 1:32 AMP In spite of the Word from God, you made a decision to believe something or someone else, specifically here the unbelieving spies. We have to continually practice believing just as a physician practices his profession. Ever learning, always developing. It is not just a one time decision or action. It is a continual opportunity to choose between believing the Word of the Lord or the compelling evidences satan uses to deceive us. What thing do you face today? What thing do you find yourself in at this moment? Will you believe the Word of the Lord or will you explain it away in subtle unbelief. God has made a way out for you. You must believe it enough to walk in it. The door has swung wide open for your victory in this thing, but you must see it more than you see the problem. In this thing, turn what the devil desires for defeat into the latest and greatest miracle! God is not a liar. He does what He promises, He is just looking for someone with faith to work through. Why not you? This time you are His chosen. It is your turn to shine. Believe Him and do not cower down in fear and unbelief. Give way to the eternal and cause the natural to surrender. You have the authority. You are the master under the Master. Do as He would do. Call those things that are not as if they were. The victory is now yours! 1 Cor 10:13 NLT The temptations (opportunities to not believe) in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, (offered the opportunity to not believe) He will show you a way out so that you can endure. The way out is to believe His Word. He cannot lie. James 1:6 AMP Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who wavers (hesitates, doubts) is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and tossed by the wind. In this thing, believe Gods Word, you cannot fail.
